New Blog Look + 1st year Anniversary!

Yey! naka-one year na ko sa blogging world! It all started for my wedding reviews for weddings at work :) and then I got inspired with my 3 favorite bloggers that I stalked daily since 2011... :) - miss leah, mommyfleur and dapattylaurel. Then I have fourth favorite blogger - Mrs. Mommyholic  - she's my peg when I become a mom - hands on mommy with her two kids, D-I-Y and kiddie parties diva too! and we're both from south....and I assume we're from the same village too haha (stalker mode on!)

Before Christmas Miss Patricia of Fancy Girl Designs and I started working on my blog, she is such a sweetheart for blog design losers like me! She's very patient, helpful and her rates are so reasonable! tama talaga si miss leah about her recommendations with Miss Patricia :)

With my one year anniversary as Mrs. Panda at the blogging world, I would like to thank you for reading this tiny diary of mine sa blogging world :) I'm not a rich girl that can post expensive stuff or an adventurer that can post amazing travels, I'm just me I blogged about my life, my favorite foods, my favorite store - daiso! i miss you dude!, my first home when I got married and my adventures and misadventures as Mrs. Panda :)

I will post sometime this week my anniversary treat to my dear readers :) I just need to get out of the house (because I was sick for 3 days na with colds and cough...grr) and prepare my gifts for my readers! :)

Thanks everyone!

Christmas is over....Seriously?!

And just like that the merriest holiday is over.... We prepared for months and just one week its all over. Mom switched on all the holiday lights and I watched for a few minutes. Where did the holiday season go?

My mom's ribbon-y Christmas tree :)

Between Christmas get-togethers and annual parties, Mr. Panda and I were only able to squeeze one holiday lunch with the family at Shang Palace before the 24th. We went twice to Shang Palace last December and Mr. Panda is in love with the dimsum buffet! His chinky eyes.....almost gone with pure food happiness hihi    (--,)

Last Christmas Eve was an almost traumatic night for us, almost because everyone was safe from the accident. My niece (who's like a daughter to me) and her 4 years old son (our family baby) were on their way to my parents' house at around 7pm when a drunk guy suddenly crossed! My niece just saw something hit her right windshield (right in front of her son) and may malaking basag na! Tinabi niya yung car to check her son agad and check ano din yung tumama sa kanila. Hindi pala ano, sino. A traffic enforcer approached them and told her she hit somebody. But someone brought the victim to the nearest hospital already which is like 2 blocks away, my niece called us and started crying. Thank God, hindi sila nasaktan with the impact and thank God yung bubog nagstart mahulog when our little boy was out of the car already.

We went to the hospital and we learned from the ER doctor na sobrang lasing yung lalaki. The very kind Samaritan/Christmas Angel who brought the victim to the hospital also informed us na sobrang lasing nga daw yung lalaki na kahit duguan siya hindi pa niya nararamdaman yung pain. Sa totoo lang  naawa ako sa kanya when I saw him, there were cuts at this forehead and sa arm. Pero sana naging responsible drinker siya at hindi siya basta tumakbo sa road ng green light. There were witnesses who informed us na tumakbo talaga siya ng green light.

After ct scan, xray and few stitches, the doctor gave us the clearance. We asked if may family ang victim that we should call. Wala daw. We went to the police station while tinatapos ang pag-gamot sa kanya for the police report.

I told the in-laws we are only paying for his daily work rate and for ilang days siya need makarecover. The in laws said mga ilang months daw need nila. I called the hospital again and they confirmed two weeks lang back to work na daw yun kasi clear naman lahat ng results. We gave extra for the medicines na pain killer and amoxiclav. 5 minutes before Christmas Eve, we left the police station. Thankful ako nakauwi kami ng maayos pero sana naman mag ingat tayo sa daan and mag-ingat sa pag-inom.

Thank you Papa Jesus for one of the best Christmas gift... we were home for Noche Buena 2013 :)

Sorry friends if medyo nega yung post, pero yun talaga ang naging highlight ng Christmas 2013. But still, we were overwhelmed with God's Grace to us.

Christmas 2013 was very memorable for us :) Mr. Panda and I are very grateful for the blessings too :)

I wish you guys had a blessed Christmas 2013 and a happier 2014 too! :) :)

Thank you 2013 and Hello 2014! plus our New Years Day Dinner :)

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!!

2013 was a good year to me and my family. No major sickness, a blessed career for the hubby and the panda couple survived a year of marriage! yehey! hihi :) Dears, when you're married na you'll understand :) everyday, you'll be thankful that your marriage is intact and you are happy that you are still married. Marriage is always a work in progress e, totoo pala yun, lot of patience and hard work no matter how perfect your husband is. Lumalayo na ko sa topic ko haha. I'm thankful for 213 that despite of the big floods (define big floods sa house namin 5 feet sa first floor) my parents were safe sa 2nd floor and nag subside agad ang flood. I'm thankful for 2013 for our 1st mini-moon at Bohol (hopefully, 2014 matuloy na ang mini-moon series). I'm thankful for the safe deliveries of my bestfriend and hs friends. I'm thankful for our memories at our first home, we moved out before Christmas and we are just praying the new owners will take care of the place as much as we did. I'm thankful that I got to spend more time with my dear kiddos (my pamangkins and our family's baby Thirdy) this year. I'm thankful that my neice and her son were safe after their car hit a drunk guy last Christmas Eve (the guy have minor cuts only, thank you Lord). I'm thankful that before 2013 said goodbye we received a good news from hubby's boss. I'm thankful that I was able to volunteer for Shoebox Love and my hubby, parents and bestfriend helped me with the 321 boxes delivery! I'm thankful that whatever happened at 2013, me and my hubby are getting happier everyday. 2013 also left our nation with a major heartache.....but with continued prayers and unity, hopefully we will recover faster.

Dear 2014, please be kind to us!!! :) With our fervent prayers, we hope for a peaceful and happy 2014 :)

Hubby and I spent our New Years Eve with my family :) I'm so happy to be back home for NYE! The fireworks display at out subdivision was amazing! Ang daming generous neighbors haha! Thank you dear neighbors! And our traditional Media Noche - coldcuts platter, goldilocks monay, lechon and hot chocolate!!!

For New Years Day, we went to BGC for dinner. Hubby wanted to dropped by at our old place, but I said wag muna I miss our old place baka maiyak pa ako ng January 1. We walked around high street and we enjoyed the "hindi nagmamadali and walang hinahabol" time :) December was a hectic month for us kasi.

Dinner! I let Mr.Panda decide for our dinner, and nasa jap food phase pa din siya haha :)
We end up at Gyu - Kaku. Its a Jap - Korean Rest at 30th cor 9th, between I-Hop and PF Changs.

- price is ok lang some are pricey for such a small serving
- steamed rice is 60 pesos per scoop
- if your have oldies with you, avoid this resto, their washroom is located in between the two floors and mataas din ang stairs ah.
- the food is 3.75. nothing special and the crispy pork belly......super breaded pork shred yata dapat tawag dun.

Will I return to this resto? Maybe :)

Dainty Brunch: Designers Bloom Cafe

Last  month, we celebrated my wedding sister's birthday. I was tasked to look for a nice place :) define nice - not to girly but dainty enough and good food,of course. I googled for a new place that we can try in Alabang. And I found Designers Bloom Cafe in Molito, I was surprised they ventured to the resto industry :) my mom is a long - time client of their ATC branch. However, I'm allergic to real flowers so I called them and they reassured they have minimal display only :)

Mirror, Mirror on the wall...

mismatched chairs and tables :)

Mrs. Panda Foodie Views:
- the place is so homey and warm! its perfect for brunch/lunch with friends or a light date :)
- i love the high ceiling of the dining area
- wished the toasted bread is toasted talaga, ang soft masyado e
- the potato chips are yummy but they are exactly the same chips we have at our old family resto
- i'm not fond of bread spreads but i love, love the tinapa mousse!
- four cheese pizza is yummy, the dough was baked to perfection
- lasagna is good enough to share for 3 pax
- rosemary grilled chicken and potato wedges were super yum too!
- service is quite slow, to think when for the first hour kami lang andun
- they are not attentive, ang liit lang naman ng dining area sa first floor pero hindi nila kami napapansin tawag kami ng tawag
- we asked for the menu to order dessert but they gave us our bill :( we told them menu nga ang hiningi kasi oorder pa kami.....
- after 10 minutes of waiting for the menu, a waiter approached our table and gave us our bill ulit.....gggrrrr.....my friend commented "pinapaalis niyo na ba kami, we asked for the menu to order again di ba?" the waiter apologized and said sorry.
- after another 10 minutes we followed up for the menu ( hindi sila full that time ha) and the guy from the flower shop area assisted us finally with the MENU.

Will I go back? Yes, but if their service still sucks for the 2nd time... ai wala na 3rd time, will look for my tinapa mousse somewhere else.

Landmark: Table Napkin Shopping

I dropped by at Landmark last month to buy table napkins for my high school get - together, and I scored some pretty table napkins! and I saw some lovely Christmas decor and  cutesy throw pillows too :)

This Christmas Tree is a different from my usual taste..... but for some reasons I'm drawn to this tree :)

This is a nice gift for newlyweds or for new homeowners :)

The cupcakes, tea set, vintage clock and key are lovely to look at! :)

simple but classy wreaths :)

Christmas Theme Table Napkins from P 29.75 to P 39.75 per pack

I bought these pink and green polka napkins for our HS get together :)

Got these for my "baking kit" gifts for little girls this Christmas :)

I love the weird trees haha and I found the heart-y plants cute :)

I was supposed to use this for our Noche Buena...oh well.

I'm not a pink girl usually but these napkins are too cute to pass.

Landmark Makati will always be one of my favorite malls, I grew up going there and one of my favorite childhood memories is our weekly grocery shopping and dinner at triple-v ( yep, naabutan ko pa ang triple-v sa landmark). And I'm very happy with their renovations (finally!) and their new stuff! easy on the pocket but good finds! :) :)

Overdue Post: High School Friends Get-Together & 168 Partywares :)

This is a 1 and 1/2 months old post.... yep, ganun na katagal. Sorry Sorry (part ng new years resolution to keep my blog post updated).  We had a high school get together last Nov, one of my close friends is home from her cruise ship job and the other one is weeks away from giving birth. We decided to have a mini baby shower but my preggy friend asked if some of her work friends can join us para isang baby shower na lang for her. Our condo can only accommodate 10 guests.... so I decided to rent the function room downstairs. Its a potluck merienda and I volunteered to take care of the chairs, table and partyware since ako naman yung nakatira dun hihi :) and since I'm already a bum that time, I need to work on a budget only :) Good thing, weeks before the party, my parents and I went to 168 mall! :)

From 168 Mall:
3 packs  for 100 pesos
- pink stripes and polka dots paper plates (10 pcs per pack)
- pink stripes and polka dots plastic table cover (1 table cover per pack)

From Landmark Makati
- pink and green polkadots table napkins ( P29.75 for a pack of 40 pcs)

From 168 Mall:
3 packs  for 100 pesos
- pink stripes and polka dots plastic table cover (1 table cover per pack)
- 1 pack of princess banderitas :) :)

From Invitation House
- G and L letter blocks (less than 200 bucks)

Sayang walang close up of the cupcakes and cake pops :( but the cupcakes I got from Cielins BF Homes and placed some barbie toppers from Cooks Exchange, Rockwell. We had s&r pizza, binondo style friend chicken, chopsuey, carbonara, bbq ribs and cordon bleu :) Yum! I'm sorry medyo kulang sa pics, I was not able to take pictures that much kasi, I was playing with my adorable goddaughter whom I haven't seen in ages.

Our small get together was cozy and fun :) and I was quite happy on how things turn out sa budget ko :)
